Q: “Can martial arts cause injury?”

Every form of physical exercise, from running to walking to martial arts, comes with a risk for injury. However, our program is run by trained experts who place a tremendous focus on injury prevention.

Because martial arts makes you more balanced, limber & flexible - it generally leads to LESS injury in people's lives. Not the other way around!

Q: “Do you have to be in good shape to take martial arts?”

Not at all! In fact, many people use martial arts as a way to get in good shape. They come to us out of shape, and quickly become athletic and limber.

Q: “I've heard martial arts is violent. Is this true?”

Absolutely not! Martial arts is about peace, balance & harmony. It's about becoming in touch with your body and all of life. It's about happiness and fulfillment.

The self-defense techniques you learn help you become flexible and strong. They help you become confident and proud.

The guiding principles of martial arts help you diffuse situations before violence becomes a part of them. However, if a hostile situation does ever come about, you'll have the tools you need to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Kids Martial Arts

Q: “Does martial arts, hapkido, tang soo do, tae kwon do make kids violent?”

No way! Martial arts is about peace, harmony and diplomacy. It teaches children how to AVOID fights - not pick them.

Q: “Is martial arts, hapkido, tang soo do, tae kwon do fun for children?”

Absolutely! In fact, kids usually have to drag their parents to martial arts class - something parents are always shocked to see. We have our serious moments here where kids work and learn... but we have just as many moments where they goof off and have a blast!

Q: “Do children's confidence & self-esteem grow with martial arts, hapkido, tang soo do, tae kwon do?”

Absolutely. Kid with low self-esteem often come out of their shells. As their skill level increases, they feel more and more confident. Other kids look up to them, just as they look up to other kids who are ahead of them. It builds a sense of confidence, pride, and teamwork.

Q: “What's a good age for a child to start martial arts, hapkido, tang soo do, tae kwon do?”

Honestly, practically every age is a good age to start! We have children as young as 3 years old, as well as teenagers. We also have specific programs for adults. So no matter where you or your child is on the age spectrum - we've got you covered.

Q: “Is martial arts, hapkido, tang soo do, tae kwon do for boys only? Or can girls participate as well?”

Our martial arts classes have been, and always will be, for boys AND girls! Every class has a good blend of the two as well. In fact, girls often get the hang of it sooner than boys as they're naturally more flexible.

Fitness Kickboxing

Q: “Is this similar to “cardio kickboxing?”

No, our classes are extremely interactive, and involve real-life boxing equipment like punching bags & gloves. This is nothing like cardio kickboxing!

Q: “Will I get toned in these classes?”

Absolutely. We've designed our program to lean & tone your muscles, helping you burn fat fast.

Q: “How many classes per week should I attend?”

We recommend at least 2-3 for best results, but we encourage you to listen to your body and attend how ever much is right for you.

Q: “How many kickboxing classes per week should I go to for maximum results?”

1-3 classes per week is recommended for top results. The most important thing is that you come every week.

Q: “If I do cardiovascular exercise on my own will I get similar results?”

It depends. Many people come to us because working out on their own just wasn't getting them results. If you have the time, will power, and energy to do tons of cardio every week, that's great. However, most of us could use a helping hand! (A helping hand with a proven system doesn't hurt either!)

Q: “What kind of shape do I have to be in to get started?”

Any! Since you can go at your own pace, it doesn't matter what your current level of fitness is. All fitness levels are welcome and do just fine!
